The RES4CLIMA project focuses on key sectors that contribute to sustainable development and resilience in Tanzania, with particular attention to water and sanitation, waste management and environmental sustainability, sustainable agriculture and food systems, infrastructure and basic services, and climate resilience. Within these areas, the University of Brescia (UNIBS) contributes particularly through its expertise in waste management and resource recovery, environmental monitoring, sustainable agricultural practices, circular economy approaches, and climate-resilient development. The other main areas coverd by the project are summarized as follows:
Agriculture & agrifood systems – sustainable, regenerative and climate-resilient agricultural production.
Water & natural resources – climate impacts on water resources and integrated management of natural resources.
Climate change & environmental sustainability – adaptation, resilience and reduction of environmental impacts.
Food systems & food security – sustainable production, post-harvest management and reduction of food losses.
Infrastructure & territorial development – particularly agricultural/post-harvest infrastructure, storage, conditioning, packaging, transport and related facilities.
Governance, planning & capacity building – institutional, university and stakeholder capacity for sustainable territorial and food-system planning.
